I offer my consultancy services in Project Engineering and Project Executions and Operations and Maintenance. I am a B. Sc (Physics Main Mathematics Subsidiary), AMIE in Metallurgical Engineering, and accredited Chartered Engineer in Metallurgical Engineering with versatile experience in the Design, Engineering, Project Construction & Commissioning, Operation of major units like Raw material handling plant, crushing and screening plants, Bulk raw material handling, Sinter Plant, Blast Furnace, sponge iron plant, D. G. Power Plant etc; in the primary zones of major Steel Plants of India and abroad for more than 42 years and 6 months.
I was in charge of the engineering, erection, commissioning and, operation of Sinter Plant, Raw material Handling Plant etc. In Ispat Metallics India Ltd, Dolvi, I was responsible for the Engineering of Sinter Plant, Supply chain management (equipment tracking) of the Blast Furnace Project etc, I commissioned and headed the operation and Maintenance of the units like Sintering Plant and Raw Material Handling systems. As the project in charge of the 11.81DG power Plant, I coordinated the working of civil, structural and Mechanical erection contractors, suppliers like Man B&W, Seimens GMBH Germany and supervised the fabrication and erection of Fuel tanks, building structures and equipment structures.
I worked in the Design and Engineering Department of Visakhaptnam Steel Plant looking after Raw Material Handling and Sintering Plant. I was over all charge of raw material handling plant (RMHP) operation (both coal handling and Ore and Flux) including wagon tipplers, stackers, reclaimers, storage yards, crushing, sizing and screening plants, mixing plant, rotary driers for iron ores etc. Handling of various coals like Boiler coal, Imported coking coals, medium-coking coals etc was done taking care of all safety aspects to prevent fire hazards due to self ignition of coals. As the Head of the department of Raw material Handling systems, I have handled various Raw materials for the integrated steel Plants like, iron ore, Lime stone, Dolomite, coal, coke, Flu spar etc and also for sintering plant all iron bearing materials generated in the steel Plant like Mill scale, Flue dust, Calcined lime, Dust from Steel Making Shop, Burnt DRI etc. I have experience in handling the green field projects in Rourkela, Bokaro, Visakhapatnam and Ispat Metallics India Ltd.
I have made a study of the iron ores, suppliers, availability, quality, price, cost etc in the Bellary - Hospet area on behalf of the Ispat group so that the ores can be made use of in the Blast Furnace and sponge iron plant s at Dolvi Maharashtra. The survey also included the logistics of the ores also to Dolvi by road and rail.
Worked as consultant in the Business Development Department looking after the activities related with the projects in Azerbaijan, Georgia etc which Ispat /GSHL are taking up. I worked as consultant in charge of the sinter plant of Ajaokutta steel Plant Nigeria and commissioned and operated a 2.4 million-ton/annum sinter plant there.
I was in charge of recruitment of personnel in the business development department and also in GSHL Nigeria where a good number of experts and engineers were selected from India and abroad for the overseas jobs of Global steel development Ltd for their plants in Nigeria, Azerbaijan, and many other countries. I have proved myself as a result oriented task master by commissioning and operating a sinter plant which could not be commissioned by Ajaokutta Steel Company for nearly 23 years after M/s TPE have left the project job of the Nigerian Plant.
I had done the due diligence work for taking over of a palletizing plant by Ispat along with an expert from Lurgi GMBH Germany .I did the techno Commercial Evaluation and take-over feasibility of The Rustavi Iron and steel Works Georgia (CIS) along with a multi disciplinary team. We assessed the feasibility of taking over of the unit, submitted proposal and negotiated with the Hon: minister of steel of Government of Georgia and submitted the techno economic proposal to the Government. Prepared the proposal for taking over of various Iron and steel making units in African nations for the Ispat group.
I am now doing freelance consultancy in project engineering, construction, commissioning, operations and technology development. One of my clients is a M/s Gharada chemical Limited Mumbai who has an export share of Rs 70000 million per year.
I am widely traveled. I have visited Russia, China, Georgia (CIS), S. Korea, Iran, Nigeria, Azerbaijan, and Dubai for Business Development activities.
